There is good news: Sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand.
Companies that are implementing green telematics solutions talk about multiple benefits: a green fleet delivers positive PR, is good for our planet, but also results in significant cost reductions. So also the experience of Sycada.Green and I dare share some numbers with you.
Sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand. Clearly when we talk about making your corporate fleet greener. In our experience, giving drivers relevant and timely feedback on how they can improve their drive style offers fuel savings typically between 8 and 20%. At bus company Connexxion, we are seeing results approaching 10% which leads to more than 5mln liters of saved fuel per year. Savings that travel straight to the bottom line.

What could ‘mindful driving’ mean for your company?
Investment in green telematics show average fuel savings in excess of 10%. Couriers, taxi’s, city distribution services and other companies with light commercial vehicles often demonstrate fuel savings of 15% with one company even booking a result of 18%. You do the maths what this could mean for your company. In addition, the positive impact on carbon emissions is good for the planet and for your public reputation. Not to speak about the reduction in number on road accidents (up to 50%), driver safety, and vehicle utilization, repair and maintenance.
Take it a step further: go electric!
The transition to electric vehicles is becoming increasingly attractive. The cost of EV’s and their batteries are coming down and the performance in terms of range is improving. The integration of real-time EV data related to battery State-of-Charge and range with the planning and dispatching of these vehicles make their integration in professional fleets feasible. We have demonstrated this at the Amsterdam taxi company Taxi-E which has a 100% full-EV fleet operating with a profit. Other examples include the EV sharing set-up in the Dutch city Den Bosch where 8 companies share a pool of EV’s for zero-emission city trips.
