One of the most frequently mentioned barriers to mass take-up of EV’s is the so called Range Anxiety of drivers. Due to limited insight into location and availability of charging points, EV drivers are reluctant to make longer trips. The result is a less than optimal ownership experience.

Sycada.Green driver support tools address the problem of Range Anxiety with a series of services available on the web and via mobile applications, including:

Battery State-of-Charge data
The user has always access to current SoC and range  estimation as well as the current status and location of the EV.
Charge Point Finder
The user can specify search criteria relative to current position, destination or facilities around a specific charging point, e.g. availability of WiFi, lunch facilities, etc.

State-of-Charge driven Trip Planning
This functionality allows the user to plan his trip based on
a) type of car and typical range,
b) actual State of Charge of the battery and
c) battery health.

This combination of data allows Sycada to fairly accurately predict the range of the e-vehicle and thus allow for more efficient drive/charge planning.
Proactive notifications
The system allows for various pro-active alerts that can be send to drivers depending on their individual preferences (web only, e-mail, SMS, iPhone). These alerts are intended as handy, practical information that is send only when relevant. The alerts cover both charging and driving related situations e.g.:
  • “EV is charged sufficiently to complete planned trip”
  • “EV is connected to charging point but not charging“
  • “SoC insufficient for reaching the planned destination”.
